Malaysia's largest property developer by sales, SP Setia Bhd flagged off 5,000 runners simultaneously in Klang Valley, Johor and Penang where its projects are located. The Setia ECO Half Marathon 2010, an annual event since the last few years was organized in conjunction with World Environment Day (WED).
The three locations were Setia Alam, Shah Alam; Setia Eco Gardens, Johor and Setia Pearl Island, Penang.
Commenting on the simultaneous run, S. P. Setia’s President and CEO Tan Sri Liew Kee Sin said that it was part of the developer’s green initiative to create awareness about WED.
“We wanted to get people outdoors to appreciate nature. This is only a prelude to our green action plan,” he added.

Currently, the high profile developer has 10 active projects under development and another 10 new projects lined up for launching progressively in the near future. This includes the RM6 billion Kuala Lumpur Eco City, which is expected to be launched by December.
Described as a green mixed development, the mega project is located on 9.7 ha of leasehold land in Kampung Haji Abdullah Hukum.opposite Mid Valley Megamall. It will be developed jointly with Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) in three phases within 10 years.
