iProperty.com Malaysia is reviewing the recent decision made by The Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration (KLRCA) to award the domain name ‘propertyguru.com.my’ to All Property Media Pte Ltd, said Shaun Di Gregorio, chief executive officer of iProperty Group.
The domain name is currently registered under iProperty.com Malaysia.
Said Di Gregorio, “While we respect the decision made by KLRCA, we are discussing the matter with our panel of lawyers on the next course of action”.
The ruling which was passed on July 20, saw a panel comprising of legal specialist in the area of intellectual property request that iProperty.com Malaysia transfer the domain name ‘propertyguru.com.my’ to Property Guru by 4th August 2011.
The URL was originally owned by Think Media Sdn Bhd in 2009 who subsequently signed over the domain name rights to iProperty.com Malaysia as part of the company’s acquisition in 2010.
“It was never our intention to act in bad faith as per the statement released by Property Guru.
“iProperty.com Malaysia has always operated its business with the highest ethical standards that has enabled the company to be the nation’s leading property website,” said Di Gregorio.
He added that iProperty.com Malaysia focuses significantly on infrastructure and intellectual property to ensure its partners and customers always get the best experience when navigating through its various online property websites.
