Marked Increase In House Prices Says Kedah BN Youth Chief

ALOR SETAR, Nov 11-There has been a marked increase in
house prices in Kedah, especially in the city, during the past three
years due to policy changes by the Pas government, said Kedah Barisan
Nasional Youth chief Badrulhisham Hashim here, Friday.
Badrulhisham who is also the state's Umno youth chief said a study by
the Alor Setar MCA youth task force found a 20 percent increase year on
year since 2009, he said at the Alor Setar MCA office.
He noted
that the average price of a two-storey terrace house in 2008 increased
from RM180,000 to RM220,000 in 2009 and up to RM260,000 last year and
RM320,000 this year.
The Kedah Pas government amended the
housing allocation quota from the 30:70 Bumiputra to Non Bumiputra ratio
to a 50:50 ratio for all private development in 2008 and placed further
restrictions on land use transfers, he added.
