KOTA KINABALU, Nov 21 (Bernama) -- A total of 2,191 houses were built under the Housing Aid programme as at Nov 17, Sabah Rural Development Minister Datuk Ewon Ebin said.
"However, the number does not include the approval given for the construction of 350 houses under the second phase of the programme, which is currently in progress," he said in reply to Ahmad Bujang (BN-Sindumin) at the State Assembly sitting here today.
Ewon said another 4,738 houses were also approved to undergo repair under the House Repair programme this year.
He said the Rural and Regional Development Ministry had also appointed Giat Mara to carry out the repair work.
On other development, he said 4,657 heads of hardcore poor households (KIRMT) have been registered with the e-Kasih system as at Oct 5.
