S P Setia marks first foray into China
Local developer to go into mixed real property development in XiaoShan, Hangzhou

Award-winning developer, S P Setia has marked their first venture into China when they entered into a Co-operation Agreement with Hangzhou Ju Shen Construction Engineering Limited on 4 June 2009.

 

The agreement is to set up a joint-venture company together to develop a mixed property project on 25 acres of land located in XiaoShan, Hangzhou in the province of Zhejiang, China.

 

According to Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Liew Kee Sin, President and CEO of S P Setia, this latest co-operation is a first for the Group in China, while being the third overseas venture.

 

S P Setia has two developments in Vietnam. One of them is Ecolakes at MyPhuoc Industrial Park, 42 kilometres north of Ho Chi Minh City and the other is EcoXanh at Saigon Hi-Tech Park in District 9 of Ho Chi Minh City.

 

Malaysia’s Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak who was on his first official visit to China witnessed the signing ceremony in between S P Setia represented by Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Liew Kee Sin and Hangzhou Ju Shen Construction Engineering Limited represented by their legal representative, Hu Baifu.

 

The signing ceremony was held in Beijing.
