IJM Land Bhd plans to launch 28 mixed development projects worth RM600 million in several locations including Penang, Klang Valley, Malacca, Johor, Negeri Sembilan and Sabah, said managing director Datuk Soam Heng Choon.
The company is currently developing 'The Light' waterfront project in Penang and Bandar Utama, a township in Sandakan.
According to Soam, IJM has also taken over Sebana Cove, a resort-cum-mixed development project on the south-east tip of Johor, which would be redeveloped to attract Singaporeans.
The developer paid RM120 million for Sebana Cove, with completed infrastructure. Targeted at the middle to upper-middle segment, prices are around RM600,000 for a semi-d and RM400,000 for a town house. It will also have bungalow lots, a golf course and a marina.
IJM Land, previously known as RB Land Holding Bhd, will be geographically diversified upon the completion of its rationalisation exercise by early September. On its overseas venture, Soam said it was investing in Changchun, the automotive city of China.
The commercial service suites-cum-residential development with a retail component, which will have a gross development value of RM500 million upon completion in four years, is to be jointly developed with Talam Corp in a 50-50 partnership.
