Automotive and banking group DRB-HICOM Bhd is expecting better performance from its property division this year, which comes hand in hand with its upcoming line-up of new launches.
The company’s group director for property Amir Salleh said DRB-HICOM is looking forward to improved sales this year due to its projects' strategic locations, which are in high demand.
The property and infrastructure sector is the group's third pillar of growth, which earned RM161.7 million for the year ended March 31 2006.
DRB-HICOM's future developments include those in Proton City, its yet-to-be-developed 600ha landbank at Connemara Estate in Hulu Langat, Glenmarie Cove in Klang, Glen Park near TTDI Jaya, and Mutiara Tropicana.
Phase two of its Glenmarie Cove riverfront resort development is expected to be completed by the end of this year with another two phases to be launched subsequently. Amir said the group has 1,618.7ha of undeveloped land, which would keep the company busy for the next 10 to 20 years.
He also added that the group is always seeking more land as well as looking for joint ventures with property owners.
